In order to incorporate, maintain, and enhance the learning of empathetic physicians, the “I Want to Believe” workshop is an experiential-learning exercise that will allow participants to utilize feedback from patients to co-create potential solutions, which enhance patients’ visits.
The activity will involve participants receiving feedback from fictional patients based on literature and real surveys, which will be provided in the form of sticky notes.
When this information has been gathered, participants will then split into groups, share their feedback and look for themes. Once participants have their themes, groups will storyboard and share the most plausible ideas to incorporate in a hospital setting. In this manner, medical students will 1) learn to actively listen and involve patients, 2) use problem-solving skills and design thinking to collaborate and co-create empathetic solutions.
Experiential-Learning exercise, which encourages utilizing patient feedback to inform and co-create solutions that enhance patients’ well-being.

Creating a Personalized Online Student Experience.
As a member of the Design Management team, we used behavioral economic principles and design thinking to conceive a system that would appeal to students and incentivize the use of the student portal.
The team utilized behavioral economics principles to reimagine a fun and helpful portal experience that allowed everyone to personalize their own content and find the resources they need.
The process of applying for and obtaining an H-1B visa for design is extremely difficult. The immigration system is so ambiguous that companies and workers are uncertain about how to proceed, how long it may take, and how much it may cost.
Among the current methods of applying for the H-1B are self-submission, attorney counseling, or web-based platforms like Envoy or Onlinevisas.com, and other online resources like blogs from law firms or immigration sites, which only offer limited and confusing information for people without any legal background.
I propose creating an on-boarding service for foreign design workers that are looking to apply for the H-1B visa. The service is a web-based, unpaid platform that gives control back to the foreign worker through a transparent, reliable system that allows them to check for their 1) eligibility, 2) timeline of the process, 3) documents necessary and 4) fees for each step of the H-1B process.
Persona - A persona was created from the compilation of user interviews to better serve the needs of this population.
This composite journey map shows the current journey the user goes through when they don’t know their eligibility as well as the improved journey when they know their options.
Testing was done to understand how the prototype was working and to make adjustments for future prototypes.
